Description

A bowl of 25 carefully glued strips of ash and oak is a celebration of contrast and harmony. Its rounded, finely turned shapes invite touch – both the top and bottom are hollow, shaped as mirror images, as if the wood wanted to breathe in both directions.

Chemical ebonizing brings out the natural difference between light ash and dark oak. The result is a dramatic pattern with an almost metallic grey tint that recalls graphic rhythms or layers of history, laid down growth ring by growth ring.

The surface is treated with Ludvie’s Oil, a natural blend that brings out the depth and structure of the wood without losing its natural expression.

A standalone design piece that is not afraid to be the center of attention. A technically demanding multi-step process, hand turning and an eye for detail make this bowl an authentic piece of wooden poetry.
