Maple Bowl (24×9 cm)

Description

This wooden bowl of box elder (Acer negundo) from the WOOD PUNK workshop combines the raw energy of craft with sensitive work with the wood’s structure. This unique piece was turned on a total of 5 axes, which creates an impressive optical effect, especially on the rim.

The outside of the bowl is stained and lightly toned with pearl pigment that highlights the natural grain of the maple. The rim and the inside are charred, creating a contrasting texture that literally comes alive under your fingers.

The rougher finish of the inner surface is intentional – natural tool marks together with charring and the pearl filling of the structures give the bowl a raw, lively expression. The whole surface is protected with Ludvie’s Oil, a natural blend that preserves the character of the wood.
