Ludvie’s Oil is a 100% natural blend of oils, waxes, resins, pigments, and abrasives developed by me. This mixture enhances the beauty of the wood grain and improves the chemical and mechanical resistance of the treated wooden surface, while not forming a visible or tactile layer on the surface, unlike, for example, varnish.
History of Ludvie’s Oil
From the very beginning of my work with wood, I searched the market for natural blends for surface finishing. I quickly realized that the vast majority of commercially available products labeled as natural oil- and wax-based wood finishes contain numerous synthetic additives—most commonly thinners and metal driers (often cobalt)—or use carrier oils that are not the most suitable or highest quality.
A Year-Long Journey Completed
I then embarked on roughly a year-long journey of studying various sources and conducting experiments. The result of this research was exactly Ludvie’s Oil. Because I enjoy experimenting and love finding ways to enhance the often incredible patterns that wood naturally creates, I gradually developed five variants of this unique blend. If you like these products and want to try them, they are available for purchase at the online store eparezy.cz.
Ludvie’s Oil Pure is the basic variant in this series of natural blends designed for wood finishing. The mixture contains the very best that nature offers and what humanity has tested over thousands of years. The included tung oil ensures rapid curing throughout the entire volume of the mixture. Orange oil enhances deep penetration, while rosin and carnauba wax form a durable film on the treated wood surface. This blend enhances the wood’s grain contrast like any oil but retains its color much more consistently than, for example, commonly used linseed oil.
Ludvie’s Oil Shine is based on the composition of the Pure variant and is enriched with a very fine mineral abrasive. This allows this unique blend to serve three functions simultaneously: it acts as a wood finish, a pore filler, and a polish.
Ludvie’s Oil Black is based on the composition of the Pure variant and is enriched with a natural black mineral pigment. Upon application, the pigment settles into the wood’s pores, enhancing their contrast and giving the surface a subtle black tint.
Ludvie’s Oil Red is based on the composition of the Pure variant and enriched with a natural red mineral pigment. When applied, the pigment settles into the wood’s pores, enhancing their contrast and imparting a warm red hue to the surface.
