Maple Bowl “Sea Cliff” (27×16 cm)

Description

A maple bowl with a natural edge, its colors recalling the sea breaking against a rock.

The outer wall is stained a deep turquoise blue-green. The stain does not cover the surface like paint or lacquer. It penetrates the structure of the wood and highlights every fiber and growth ring, so the color feels layered and deep, much like the surface of the sea.

The inside is stained and ebonized black, dark as an underwater rock. The two sides meet at the natural edge with the original bark, where the transition is sharpest.

Maple has a typical wavy figure that creates flashes of shimmer in places. As you turn the bowl, the light moves across the surface differently every time. In person it is even more striking than in the photos.

Turned from freshly cut maple and finished with natural Ludvie's Oil Pure. Every piece is one of a kind.

Care: wipe with a dry or damp cloth, do not put in the dishwasher and do not leave standing in water. Detailed care instructions are included with the product.
