Black Locust Bowl “Meteorite” (23×9 cm)

Description

A signature wooden bowl from a black locust burl – a raw, wild piece of wood that carries the restless beauty of nature in its mass. Every curve, curl and bump is a trace of the tree’s life, captured in fire and highlighted with color.

The bowl has an irregular, thick rim where a relief full of “curls” stands out thanks to charring, staining and a fine pearl pigment. This creates a dark, almost black crust with red tones glowing beneath it, and a delicate pearly shimmer flickering on the surface. From above it looks like a petrified piece of lava, while the profile reveals the depth of the layers.

The lower part is turned, carefully polished and stained brick red, contrasting with the dark upper rim.

Inside is a cavity about 13 cm in diameter, turned and hand-polished. Its surface is treated with natural oils and waxes to bring out the natural grain of the black locust burl – small curls and lively details that resemble an organic map.

The whole piece looks like a meteorite from another planet – raw, dramatic, yet ready to serve as a bowl or a sculptural object.
