Curvy Vessel “Fiery Breath” (20×16 cm)

Description

This signature wooden vessel carries both the weight of the earth and the lightness of breath. Its plump body, 16 cm high and 20 cm in diameter, gracefully closes and then opens again just below the neck – as if it took a breath before speaking.

The upper rim is smoothly sanded, without bark, yet with the soul of wild wood. The color? Bright red, like an ember glowing through the night. Over it run strokes of black lacquer – casual, calligraphic, like the signs of a fire writing its own language.

The outside was polished to a lively shine. Fine pores and the wavy grain show through the dark tones. Every turn of light across the surface reveals a new shade of depth.

Inside is another world – rawer, more honest. The cavity was shaped with a 16 mm hollowing gouge – every movement of the tool is left visible, like a cut into the material’s memory. The surface remains unsanded, covered with black lacquer with bronze pigment that emphasizes the structure and gives the interior an almost sculptural character. Roughness here is a choice, not a flaw.

The wall thickness stays even – around 8 mm – a sign of precise work with the cavity and the tool.
It is a technically demanding object where a challenging form, layered coloring and contrasting finishes meet. The result is a vessel on the border between nature and personal expression – an object born of respect for wood and a desire for expression.
