Yew Wood Bowls – Elegance and Mystery in Every Line
Yew wood bowls are not ordinary craftwork. They are small artefacts carrying the mystery of an ancient tree – the yew. Its wood glows in soft shades of pink and orange, velvety to the touch, long regarded as a symbol of both nobility and death.
Each yew bowl is created with deep respect for the age and beauty of this tree. I work exclusively with yew that has fallen naturally or had to be removed. The wood is fine-grained, hard, and resilient, wonderfully workable, with a silky surface that invites touch.
Yew wood bowls serve as distinctive design accents, decorative pieces, or functional objects. I often shape them to highlight natural asymmetry and small imperfections—traces of the wood’s life story. Each piece is finished with a natural blend of oils and waxes for lasting durability and safe contact with food.
